No one was imagining or expecting to have such global Covid 19th crisis which affected the daily routine life and hit all aspects of life even the economics all world countries, but out of each Crisis and difficulty, there is always a Story of Success
I joined Stella Di Mare Beach Resort & Spa Makadi Bay as Hotel Manager in a time where this hotel was totally absent from any nominations or acknowledgement from all international websites or any remarkable achievements for years
When the Corona hit Egypt, all hotels have to evacuated all guests, but Stella Makadi succeeded to be one of the few hotels which did the closing with Zero infected cases whether among guests or staff due to the strict follow up on the Covid 19th regulations that we followed on the 2 hotels of 1300 units and more than 900 employees while their surrounded hotels had infection cases
Then during the lockdown, we worked hardly on getting benefit of this lockdown by working hard on the training courses for all staff, keen fix for hotel’s facilities, contingency plan to minimize expenses to pass over this critical time while maintaining high moral atmosphere among staff by extending contracts for all employees even ones where in probation periods plus doing social activities whether for staff or for the surrounding area and government as we did approach of cartoon of food supplies for unemployed people in Hurghada
Later on by July 2020, flights announced to resume and all hotels were in need to obtain the certificates of re-opening from both of Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Health according to the new rules and regulations, We succeeded to get those certificates for the 2 Stella hotels in Makadi from the 1st time however of the difficulties of financial funds and as well that many brands failed in getting it at that time and passing the governmental audit
As a result of the continuous efforts and hard work, I started to achieve high results and scores plus getting awards and certificates whether related to food safety and hygiene to score between 93:94% with SGS audits after being around 88 to 90% maximum and as well on All the International websites as following
- Booking.com to score 9.5 which is one of the highest scores worldwide and exceeding guest’s satisfaction over than many international chains
- Turpravda which is for the major Ukrainian and CIS market which is the main market working in Egypt since covid start and be rank #1 over whole Egypt
- HolidayCheck for the German market to score 90% with 5.2/6 after being 87% with 4.7/6
- Zoover for the Dutch & Belgium markets to score 9.3/10 after being 7.8/10
We worked hard on the Triangle of Success
- Staff by investing on the software by continuous training, follow up, improving morals and loyalty
- Owner by minimizing expenses to be an example for all sister hotels plus succeeding all Travel Agents & Tour Operators fam trips, and up-selling of revenues
- Guests by providing high standard of service which allowed him for gaining guest’s loyalty and positive excellent feedback reflected on achieving high scores and all Awards
